She also uses oil pastels and watercolor pencil and is a certified expressive arts facilitator and runs various groups on Cape Cod using art as a tool for healing and getting intouch with your inner self. Has exhibited in many cities on Cape Cod and at Franklin Lakes, NJ. Her art will grace the cover of a book by Dr. Dellesaga on eating disorders. Annual Regional Show 2008 June 1, 2008 to June 29, 2008 The Greater Fall River Art Association cordially invites you to participate in our Annual Regional Show to be held at the Galleries, 80 Belmont Street, Fall River. The show is open to any artist who wishes to enter. Categories accepted will be acrylics, graphics, jewelry, mixed media, oils, pastels, photography, pottery and sculpture, watercolor. Work must not have been exhibited at any previous Fall River Art Association Regional Exhibition. All work must be framed and wired, ready for hanging. Monetary awards will be given. All works sold at this exhibition are subject to a % commission to the Fall River Art Association. Schedule of Events : Drop off Dates : May 27, 2008 and May 29, 2008, from 6pm to 8pm Pickup dates : June 30, 2008 and July 1, 2008. from 6pm to 8pm Show Opening and Awards Ceremony-- Saturday, June 7, 2008, from 7pm to 9pm Exhibit open to public every Sunday in Month of June from 12 noon to 3pm By Appointments please contact Jim Bartley at 508-673-7212 Entry Fees : $10 for each entry for non- members and $8 for members, 2 for $15. JULY 2008 Greater Fall River Art Association presents : Jennifer Fallon ---- Copper Artwork Exhibit : July 5, 2008 to July 27, 2008 Opening Reception : Sunday, July 13, 2008 from 1pm to 3pm Greater Fall River Art Association Group Show at the invitation of the Tiverton Arts Council March 19 - April 25 Opening Reception March 21, 6-8pm The show will be held at the Tiverton Town Hall Gallery Space Drop off date is March 14, 3:30 - 6:30pm Pick up dates are April 28 - 29, 8:30 - 4:00pm Open to all mediums! GFRAA member Joe Guevara's ART WORK WILL BE DISPLAYED AT THE 2008 NAEA (NATIONAL ART EDUCATION ASSOCIATION) CONVENTION IN NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA. NEW! Artist Deborah Beth Macy will be teaching an oil painting class at the GFRAA Belmont St. location starting Tuesday afternoons from 2-4PM. It will begin TUESDAY, FEB 12th 2-4 PM more info needed? www.deborahmacy.com The instruction will encompass a wide span of interests, from basic color theory, to still life, landscape, and portraiture depending on individual interest. The class will run for 6 weeks, students bring their own materials (canvas, paints, linseed oil, turpenoid, brushes, and choice of subject.) Beginners welcome. Newsletter Editor's Note: The Greater Fall River Art Association is in the process of change. The lastest Board Meeting was jam packed with officers and teachers. For the most part the supporters agree that the association must move forward and make major improvements to the building and the organization as a whole. More classes, more community outreach, more collaboration with the students in our area schools, college and university, and other area organizations.
